Question: Just sharing, comments welcome!?
I like to dine and read!. On this night in 2003 I wrote
some poetry while dining!. Untitled!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
Too dark to really read tonight,
my eyes are much too tired!.
Time to sit,
reflect a bit,
and get a little wired!.

A hankerin' for a line or two
to wile away the time!.
In between chunks of steak
that clog this heart of mine!.

A bowl of minestrone soup
that's rich & red & deep
With gin & wine & other spirits
my sobriety they reap!.

I'm getting soused,
the rib is prime
the radish, it is horse!.
I'll end the night like all the rest,
a vintage port, of course!.

The radish is a horse!?!?!?

to while away the time

I would title it: some poetry while dining

You have 5 lines, 4, 4, 5, might conform that:
"Time to sit, reflect a bit," could be one line!.
The radish line could be omitted!.

Very nice!. Have you read The Collected Poems of William Carlos Williams!? The cat in the jam closet and the one about the newspaper in the street (the latter is evocative of a sequence in the film of about 1950 vintage, "The Red Shoes!.")Www@QuestionHome@Com

I enjoy a bit of that as well!.

Nice bit of verse you have penned!.

Wine, dining, and reading,,, a comfort beyond compare!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
