But a lot of famous poets hated this saying!. Poetry is so subjective, like a lot of art, that there will always be *someone* out there who will be truly touched by what you write, if you write it with emotion!. Yes studying helps getting your grammar right, but you have to feel it in you that you have an imagination that can take other readers into the poem My poetic ideal: I'd rather write about someone else's feelings, or w/e than my own, because it shows them that someone in this world cares!.
