Question: What does disillusionment mean to you!?
I chanced upon a meadow
strewn with flowers with scents so rare
And colours of such radiance
that I sought sanctuary there!.
I gazed in awesome wonder
at the beauty I had found!.
So much to see!. So much to taste!.
I danced carelessly all around!.
There was joy in my heart to see
Wind-blown bright poppy seeds!.
But, then amongst the flowers
I noticed some tiny weeds,
Not enough to trouble me at first
As these could hardly be seen
But, my happiness felt tainted
No longer did I feel free!.
I tried to ignore the ugliness
But soon saw weeds everywhere
Brambles and poison ivy
Spreading feelers to sting and tear
Choking the remaining flowers
Despoiling my happy dream
I've found in my simple meadow
That nothing is what it seems!.

I danced inside a meadow fair,
and such sights did I see there,
my flowers mingled with the weeds,
what god had sown such tainted seeds!?
I asked to heaven, asked them why,
and never received a reply,
until I learned to find the beauty
in the nettle and the thorn,
and realized that only fools
are quick to offer scorn,
for does a thing determine its creation,

It would be sad enough even if it were a literal meadow!.!.!.nothing is ever quite what it seems!. Distortion seems one of the great informing principles of consciousness!.!.!.I hope your meadow is soon restored and that your poem finds its rightful place amongst its glories!. Positive Power VS Negative Energy
I have learned !.!.!. To take the Ugly or Imperfect and embrace it as it is
and find a place for it in my little world where it can be seen in a positive light!.
Thus!.!. In my garden !.!. I practice the art of Selective Weeding which in my mind will deter the bugs from eating my plants as they have plenty of weeds to feast on!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your first line got me in!. It reminds me of something I wrote which I will post shortly!. Lovely lovely poem with contrast and meaning!. Sad that you saw reality instead of retaining the bliss!. The negative drew you away from the positive!. Ah humanity! Tis so!. I have this feeling I have posted this before so I won't put it up as a question (an old poem of mine, not as good as your GJ)
Field of Dreams
I came upon a field of green
Floating and waving beneath the arbours
A canopy shade to me was calling
Prepared for me, a place for dreaming
I lay, my face toward the azure
Waiting for sleep to cradle my soul
In time the leaves fell soft and gentle
And wrapped me in a blanket of gold
Sleep enfolded a warm embracing
Engaged my mind in blissful scenes
It lead me back to days of wonder
Refreshed my soul, bought sweet release
Oh that the days that age and weary
Might be transformed by nature's way
Replenish all by the cycle of living
