Question: If you have ever regretted "Dropping Guard," would this poem describe how you felt!?
Dropping Guard

Plug's been pulled
air let out
carelessly cut!.

Curse the day
you allowed yourself
to depend
on another's strength!.

Knowing better
dropping guard
you reached
to outstretched hand!.

Strong crutch you
came to lean upon
walked away
abandoned again!.

Beware the empty
"know I'll be there"
"count on me"
lies you can't believe!.

Alone was a place
once left behind
you return
to find nothing's changed!.

yes, i know that feeling all too well!. i can't believe i put so much trust in and came to depend on someone when i never let myself do that before!.
he not only let me fall, he walked me to a cliff and pushed me off!.

I let down my guard and then I get nailed with a left hook!. Happens every time, but still I feel compelled to let someone get close to my heart from time to time!. I seem to be the one to champion the underdogs, especially women, and they seem to be the ones who do the most damage when I don't expect it!. But still, I survive to let down my guard again for another!. I don't complain, I just shake it off and start the next round, for there is no limit to what we can do for and with the power of love!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I leave you a few stanzas from a larger piece I've written, my reflection to compliment your descriptive words!.

No, no, I'm happy for you,
the silence from me is not that I'm muted,
I've nothing to say because of promises made
that leave the meaning of words diluted!.

"Always, till the end of time, forever,
I'd never hurt you" said without meaning!.
Words now a token of my spirit that's broken,
here take my throat it's primed for choking!.

Left with only two possessions to hold,
grab them they're fading rapidly,
an eternally saved but dehydrated soul,
and a heart overflowing with apathy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The plugs been pull
even though i am still breathing!.
I understand i have to depend on someone else!.
I lived for who knows why
Then they who you depended on
Left me alone to die again!.
We are born with loving understanding
But we die with no clue!.

Very Good Ma!. Its so sad but so true!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
