Question: Are "deep thinkers" shallow!?
I have never been one
to partake in deep thoughts
Relishing the surface of things
I see outer beauty
and appreciate it
Questioning not what I see
believing that my eye can behold beauty
I was approached and judged
for enjoying things I see
a deep thinker said "there is more to it"
I cared not for this "more to it"
I enjoy it
allow me to be shallow
I am happy with the low tideWww@QuestionHome@Com

As one who ponders things like the reason for the origin of the universe, and who created God, and how will it all come to an end, I can say with certainty that I enjoy a pretty scene, a lovely woman, a good hamburger, and most other shallow pleasing things in life!. Deep thinking has it's pace, but not as a full time occupation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that you are probably far from shallow and although I should just enjoy the beauty of words, I see a deeper meaning!. I agree that there is nothing wrong with enjoying beauty for beauty's sake and that we don't need to always seek a deeper meaning or understanding!. This is a provocative poem that is just as lovely on the inside as it is out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is something to be said for enjoying the "low tide," a fine metaphor for the surface of things!. However, it should not preclude "deep thoughts;" they are what separate Homo Sapiens from the rest of Earth's animals!.

You like surfing rather than diving!? A nice pen!. The idea of enjoying for what's there rather than trying to analyze everything and in the process missing out is refreshing!. I try not to ponder much when I eat an ice cream bar!. Well said!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like being the one hiding the colored eggs and not telling the kiddies where I've put them, unless I see a sad little girl or boy whose basket has no eggs inside, and then I might hint or point!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you believe what you see with your sensory perception!.!. while deep thinkers take nothing for granted, I think it quite noble to take nothing for granted!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

This poem is stellar!.
I applaud you for not letting the sea of deep thinkers cast you out in the tide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
