Lipstick and Mascara

Women seem, rightly so,
to always be complaining!.
Complaining about you guess it,
us’em men!
And how we don’t do
this and that or that and this
and dress like slobs…
etc!., etc!., etc!.,
And being men we are,
gentlemanly always,
our replies are stated,
mouthed quietly, to offer no
offense!.
But it’s hard for us’em men
to fathom those words from ruby lips
or get burned by mascaraed eyes
when we say the universal words
for endearment: Yes, Honey!
Now ‘them’ are words, inflections many,
that don’t seem to rhyme…
rhyme with lipstick and mascara!
We wonder why!?
