This is a love poem by Edna St!. Vincent Millay!. It's about two people who are madly in love and they spend the night together doing things that might seem mundane to everyone else, but to them nothing else could be better!.

We were very tired, we were very merry--
We had gone back and forth all night upon the ferry!.
It was bare and bright, and smelled like a stable--
But we looked into a fire, we leaned across a table,
We lay on the hill-top underneath the moon;
And the whistles kept blowing, and the dawn came soon!.

Love
It has many different meanings
But everyone understands what it means

Love
It can be complicated or simple
For a spouse or a puppy

Love
It can be at first sight
Or develope over time

Love
Can mean everything
Or nothing at all

Love
It makes you want to cry, scream, and shout
But you want to smile and laugh at the same time

Love
Can be forever
Or just a passing fancy

Love
Can be for family and friends
Or for lovers and crushes

Love
Some may love many
Some may love few
Some may even love none at all
And I pity them
for not being able to experience the different forms of love

A hug
A kiss
A grin
Or holding hands

Love
Through the many different languages
Across the whole world and Universe
Everyone knows

I wrote this one, so I copyright it

There’s a sort of secrecy that dwells in the night
When the darkness falls, hidden by the absence of light
When I can quietly reminisce my actions of the afternoon
Silently confiding myself into only the moon

Recently I’ve noticed something changing in me
Something burning in my heart, yearning to be set free
I think it’s been there all along
But I was too caught in the song
To notice that my heart was imploring
To set this new idea soaring

Music is still my other half, but I think there’s something more
Something that I didn’t know was always there before
Perhaps a second source to spur my fiery passion!?
Perhaps a little sign of unknown compassion!?

I’ve looked to you, watching every move you make
Heard every sound, success, passion, every mistake
And every time I play a note, I look to the right
To see if I might
Catch a glance of what you think I am
Every note’s an exam

I’m not so sure why I didn’t consider this before
Maybe this isn’t mentorship perhaps it’s more
I’ve always wanted to be you
Copy everything that you do
But know that feeling’s changed
My heart is rearranged

Almost every second, I’m recalling what you’ve said to me
Almost every moment, with you I wanna be
There hasn’t been a day recently
That I haven’t pictured you with me
And every note I play is for you
I hope you know it’s true

And even when you’re not around, I play for you
I think to myself, “What would he do!?”
And with every note, every key
You spur the music in me
Even if you don’t know
This feeling will only grow

And silently under the glow of the moon
I know that you can hear the desperate swan croon
And you know that in the end
For the truth you cannot bend
Through our music we’ll be together
You’re here forever and ever
In the music and because I love you
I hope you love me too
