Question: Where Did I go When Comatose!?
Where Did I go When Comatose!?

They stare down at me – faces
They think that I am deaf
They talk about me
And I drift out of mind again!.
The place I’ve gone, is vivid
In colour, depth and light
It fills me with delight!.
I am lying in an open field
In the middle of a forest,
The moon is shining down on me
The stars shooting by in flashes
A pixie comes and touches me
Takes me by the hand
I stand up slow but steadily
And she spins me round and round!.
There’s pixie dust on every leaf
The fireflies blink at random
I lean up on a sturdy tree trunk
I close my eyes just briefly
And when my eyelids open
The sight before them blossoms!.
A strong and mighty dragon
is looking straight at me
He is strong with eyes ablaze
And as they meet my gaze
A transformation happens!.
His body shrinks and wings appear
He flies away and then comes near
And as our eyes have locked again
I lean out and he leans in
And as the pixies dance near by
I slowly kissed my dragonfly!

A graphic illustration of the moments in and out of consciousness!. This type of thing has happened to me, although not so poetically!.

Doctors now realize that comatose people are still there and can hear them!. The mind understands and morphs reality into dream!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is lovely, and the denouement at the end delightful!. My comatose state would probably consist of me chasing around town looking for my kids and then trying to reach some-where and getting hopelessly lost!.!.!.!.!.a recurring dream of mine!.

(Perhaps the tense needs changing slightly at the end!?
I lean out and he leans in
And as the pixies dance near by
I slowly kiss my dragonfly!. (gently!?)

(grannyjill, will you stop interfering!!.!.!.!.!. Sorry, it's what Grannies are for, my child)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never been comatose but I was once knocked unconscious and I have been sedated a couple of times where I was nearly comatose!.

I can very much identify with this!. The awareness of my situation as I regained consciousness was much as you describe!.

Interesting read!. I hope you are all better now!.
