girl friend indicates a friend who is a girl whereas girlfriend is the one you do things with all the time, your sweetheart!.

The poem is simple, but that is all right when you are speaking about young love!.

if you were writing that poem for a girl you like you might want to check to make sure she is as illiterate as you are before giving it to her so that she doesn't get the impression that you are some kind of desperate dumb *** posing as a romantic!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
