Question: Have you ever walked this walk!?
Far Horizon
by C!.S!. Scotkin

Tears still fall from widow’s walks
eyes still stare into merciless sun
awaiting a sail rising
over that far horizon!.

Each day the ritual changes not,
fair weather, foul she does not care
awaiting a sail rising
over that dark horizon!.

She’ll know that ship, it’s light will glow
reflecting Luna’s smile!. No more
awaiting a sail rising
over that far horizon!.

A fine poem!. I spent two years on a metaphorical widow's walk!. I am almost ready to abandon it for a star ship!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothing beats false hope and distorted expectation to keep a person in one place!. Grief will produce that waiting and longing, thus prolonging the grieving period!.

The horizon is unreachable and I suspect actually doesnot hold the hopes we yearn for!. A stage for the performance of Sun rise and set is all that the Horizon can promise!. We need to keep walking while we view the future, walk to towards it and it will arrive sooner!? Maybe, maybe not!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Excellent - awaiting a ship from the sea - an ancient occupation!. Good meter - I just loved it - great use of repetition repetition ?

The first time - I saw a widow's walk (or was aware of one) - was in the movie "The Ghost and Mrs!. Muir"

Many of the deep south plantations had a widow's walk on or near the roof, where the lady of the house would keep watch for her man returning home!. Some of the plantations were so large that it could take many days to check things and get back home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Now I know why I got left at the dock!.!.!. Hydropro is coming to visit you!.!.!. what a sly dog he is indeed!.

note: I know it wasn't, but when the run of recent words stoarted flowing, I had to mention it!.

I know it was a sweet sentimental piece!.!.!. beautifully done!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No one, truly knows that walk, until they walk it!.
But your words are lovely, Kudos!.

It is the anchor that is lost, a forever drifting, if that is the choice!.

Step after step

Step after leaden step
Each tearing away senses

Hope upon faded hope
Awash forcing fate down

Tear atop murky tear
Staining forlorn sirens

Night beyond darkest night
Candles flicker life's last

Step after step
