Mummies – A Rather Dry Pome

Every now and then, ‘tis true,
I move furniture to do
some really good housekeeping!.
I have to vacuum, have to dust
guests are coming, so I must
attempt the seasonal chore!.
Move that sofa, move the chair,
can you guess what I find there!?
Some dessicated mummies!.
I am not on Giza’s plain,
it does not take half a brain
to solve this small mystery!.
Dehydrated geckos, seven
found their way to gecko heav’n
hidden from Grace and George!.
Valiant little lizards, now
planted in my garden, how
many more wait for me!?
I decide, move not the bed,
afraid to find one more dead
mummified small reptile!.

For the most part I'm a stay-at-home dad and I've always been a little obsessive about moving furniture; it's the only way to clean!. Fortunately I don't have any geckos or hamsters, just your average giant dust bunnies!. Though, I did find my 3 yr old once (she wasn't mummified, only sleeping)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Every 2-3 months I *try* to attack one room thoroughly!. If done on a rotating basis it doesn't take all damn day! (Especially after I've been cleaning for others as well!.) Dusting is my least favorite at home, but I like to do other people's cause you get to look at all their neat stuff!Www@QuestionHome@Com
I like to think I am smug
When I get up crumbs from under the rug!.
A bit of a neat freak I can be
But no one else sees it but anal me!.
The older you get it does not matter
I think that`s why they call a rug a scatter
I`m pushing the crumbs under the bed

Substitute semi-detached mice for geckos and we connect!. By semi detached I mean that half of them is now walking around in one of my cats!.
