"Discovery" - rondel
In the darkness surroudning, eclipsing my dream,
I see your eyes shining, ascending from night,
the scars of the battle, victor in the fight!.
I cannot escape the intent of their gleam!.
The words of once lovers now turn to a scream,
and visions of rapture now poison my sight!.
In the darkness surrounding, eclipsing my dream,
I see your eyes shining, ascending from night!.
Slipping and falling in time's fatal stream,
the curse of your kiss is my forever blight;
there is but your blackness erasing my light,
and I find that you, dear, are not what you seem
in the darkness surrounding, eclipsing my dream!.
