Originally it was quoted thus: Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the Autumn moon is bright!. Obviously, they didn't want to restrict old Wolfie's forays to just one season of the year, so they changed it to 'full and bright' in later movies!. also, if memory serves, there was some flexibility to parts of it!.
