Ode to a windlord

O eagle, you are the gale’s mighty blow!
Whose presence quakes the thunderclouds with fear
your windborne wings and flight shall drive them low
And whip the skies with vicious torrents of air
to blow the sea into a raging bed
whose roaring waves consume lives so dear
Majestic lord! Soar with your wings outspread
And cry to the meek sky your regal law
Your piercing screech stabs all hearts with dread
before you, stout trunks of tree turn to straw
and stony mountains crumble into dust
Beneath your wings, all their shadows withdraw

This stanza is packed with rich imagery and evokes a world that is primal and untamed, the world over which the eagle rightfully reigns!.
You are definitely making your ideas and symbols rhyme better all the time, and that is the true measure of the poet!. On this count, you are progressing by leaps and bounds and are to be congratulated!. I'm still finding difficulty with the meter, and would love to hear you read it aloud!. I know that you are a great admirer of the English romantic poets of the 19th century, and in that we agree!. I did not fully appreciate the genius of Keats's odes until I committed them to memory, in fact internalized them, and began to make their beautiful music part of my neural circuitry!. The experience also improved my own "music!." Though I lack the poetic genius of a Keats, I do share in his gift because I "owned" it, made it my own!.
That metrical gift, which can be to an extent acquired, is what you should seek to complement your artistic vision!. This is not easy, but if you read poetry aloud, and feelingly, and then internalize it, you will find that the genius of the master begins to invade your psyche, and to integrate itself!. I think that if you can do this (and over time, because you must also continue to write), you will achieve your heart's desire!. Your work as a poet is, as you already understand, never done, and you are always growing!. You are a gem!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your images and progression are much stronger!. Your meter seems to wander yet somehow flows as I read!. Typos with caps and tree(s)!. Overall, I like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
