Question: Do you like my new English Sonnet!?
*****
THE BATTLE OF FLAMBOROUGH HEAD

The floating plank I clung to was debris,
From Serapis, perhaps Bonhomme Richard,
Through all the cannon smoke I could not see,
The flags of fighting men or bosh bastards,

I bobbed in briny sea and watched with whales,
As man and mast were bended by the fray,
With sword and sash, combatants flung and flailed,
And battling in waves with salty spray,

Then I spy the brigantine named Vengeance,
She’s letting down a ladder I may climb,
In the fight again, this time with temperance,
We turn into the wind as eight bells chime,

I raise my weapon high in shouting tones,
I’m here to fight alongside John Paul Jones!

Visual, with end rhyme (as required) subtle alliteration, much action and true to form!. It also contains artistic content of value!.

A typo!? S2 L4 needs an extra beat; perhaps "the" before "waves!?"

EDIT: Sorry!. Shows how much you know compared to the rest of us!Www@QuestionHome@Com
