Question: Have any comments on this didactic poem!?
Help Them By Stopping Them

Stop them before they breed
the bad writers, bad spellers;
the ignorant who cannot read
much less comprehend the need
for punctuation and good grammar!.
Stamp out the uneducated;
the text messagers who
think the art of communicating
is in cell phone keys!.
Oh please,
I beg you please,
do not give them ease!.
They must learn in order to grow;
you can help to encourage
and show them
the way to better skills!.
Ignorance is not a tool,
it
only
kills
the light
on
the
path!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Aim is off: you're speaking to those who are NOT bad writers, etc!. So, rather than being 'didactic,' it's more along the lines of 'pedagogic theory,' as from one teacher to another!.

----->Little poet, who cannot spell
----->and uses thumbspeak, mostly,
----->send that poem straight to hell;
----->it's far too weak to postly!.

Somp'm like that!. It's not a BIG bludgeon, and it doesn't demean the poet--you want them to work at improving their work, rather than getting defensive and stubborn, right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I understand where this is coming from completely because bad grammar and spelling is a pet peeve of mine, although I know of a few fantastic writers/poets who can barely work out where to put a comma!
That, as much as it infuriates me, does not mean they are a terrible person who should be stopped before they "breed"!.
So, as much as I like this poem, I find it terribly harsh and I wouldn't recommend you to post this anywhere else!. Sorry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Stop them before they breed" I feel this is a little harsh!. Those who have difficulty reading and writing are not necessarily unintelligent or ignorant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a tad elitist!.

Those of us who cannot read
do not believe there is a need!.
We should stamp out this fallacy,
but NEVER act that callously!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
