Question: What constitutes a poem exactly!?
If I'm not in the slightest bit able to play a guitar, but I pick one up and randomly strum the strings, the resulting sound could hardly be classed as music!. Same principle applies to just about every musical instrument!. Why is it then, that just about everyone who can string a few words together on a page claims to have written a poem when, in actual fact, the result can no more be regarded as poetry than my strumming a guitar can be classed as music!? Discipline and order (not to mention talent) are surely required in both fields of endeavour!? Opinions please!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

i agree!.!.whateevr the form of poetry one chooses it must definitely not fail to appeal to a sizable number of people!.!.but then a music not liked by one could be a masterpiece for another!.!.the same goes with poetry
EDIT:I personally dont think that anybody is in the capacity to set diciplines to any form of art!.!.!.because then it wouldnt be art at all as it would then chain ones expression to a set of rules!.!.!.talent is inherent and absolute but tastes are subjective!.!.i think we should all keep in mind that our opinions are predominatly subjective!.!.!.we should not let that instinct make binding judgements about an art!.!.!.for example i never understand mordern art but i would not ridicule them ever because i know that there is something them that my intelligence can perhaps never understandWww@QuestionHome@Com
