a lite repast offered this morn

Appetite

An hour tastes fine
to those who pause
but to ponder a day…
requires an appetite!.

So too, a lifetime
as hunger calls to you!.

And will you fill
your plate, with this food
or are you…

I like what you did with the metaphor!.!.!.you could easily expand this into a larger piece if you were so inclined--the central theme is strong (though of course that's up to you)!.
