He sits in a motel room
screen torn and pried,
unafraid of intruders -
rocking his tomb!.

He contemplates a new life
serene and calm,
love essential in his plan -
taking a wife

Freedom is one week afar
seven dead days,
papers, signatures, and stamps -

This reminds me of Cynthia's poem about waiting for someone, when she says, "Time stops!." A week can be an eternity to someone waiting!.
