Lovely sigh
Reeds bend
Yielding to the wind
The slow slow wind
That dies
Gradually
Carelessly blowing
The night cries
Birds lament
Their goodnight song
The voices of the loving and the loved
Touch the night
Sweet nothings, whispered
Children kissed goodnight
But the one voice I listen for
The only one I want to hear
His voice
Sounding softly, lowly
In my waiting ear
That sweet, loving sound
Caressing in it's velvet wonder
Soon I see the owls fly
But all I want to see
His eyes stare into mine
Deep worlds I see
When he does, if he does
Other worlds of brightness
No darkness only light
He is my light my only light
So now I feel the wind blow on my skin
And the bending reeds tickle my ankles
Cold pond water laps gently against my fingertips
But this is not the touch I long for
This is not his hand
Gently clasping mine
Moving my hair, from my face
His fingers laced in mine
My sun!.
My hope!.
