All my life I have been your rock
ready to steady your waivering soul

trying too hard to help block
all the things that could cause a hole

weathered and jagged edges about me
as I have stood on the front line

obstacles and high waters confront me
but I stand firm, with you behind

ready to battle, come what may
to make sure, all the while

you stand sure, out of harms way

Poetry shows good strength and genuine battle of protection!. I have no intention of a gender battle here, laugh, but to me so many strong words in one poem lean toward masculinity!. What’s your thought of softening some of these words, (rock, wavering soul, block, jagged edges, front line, obstacles, ready to battle, harm’s way) up with a more subtle, gentile, loving and romantic approach!? You are standing by your man because you love him, aren’t you!? Many would oppose my view! Keep up the writing!. Still unbelievably good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
