Question: Is this enough of a surprise !?
Gun Shy Kisses-(+)-
# 9

“I am only a hired hand,”
I explained
“No personal vendetta do I hold”
“THAT is where we differ…
I was not hired for my task!”
Hands trembled but I maintained
“Then why do you want her dead!?”
My question drifted in the air
“You have no idea what I want…”

-I hope that it is clear that the last line belongs to this stranger assassin… or is she an assassin!? I have an idea where this is going but all of your answers help me hone the story… I always hope to keep you guessing… and when you guess right I simply change the direction…

It seems our protagonist is not as cold and calculating as once I believed!. She feels the need to explain herself to this stranger-- her hand trembles!. She has a heart! This is an unusual development!. I will not hazard a guess as to where this is going, as we can only be wrong, with sneaky tricks in store!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

So, our mystery assassin is in love with Kay!? To pull from a completely different piece of literature, can I assume that we're talking an almost Rachel/Ivy connection between them!. And Charlotte, the poor hired hand, what the hell is she getting herself into!. Why doesn't she pull the trigger; she seemed that sort of character when the story began!? What is it in this particular assassin that she sees in herself!.!.!.or doesn't see!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Siren,

Moving on through the story!.!.!.All is not as it appears!. (Oh, and it was clear that it was the stranger who was speaking at the end)!.

A couple of posible changes to consider:

“I am only a hired hand--
no personal vendetta,"
I explained
“THAT is where we differ
I was not hired for my task!”
My hands trembled!.
“Then why do you want her dead!?”
The question drifted in the air
“You have no idea
what I want…”

So, a couple minor changes!. I thought that maybe the linebreak at the end would allow you to punch the words a little more!.!.!.again use what you like ignore the rest!.

It is keeping my interest!.

Edit: Evadne, breaking out the Kim Harrison references!.!.!.excellent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
