laughing
so the same, but yet so apart
one leads to the other
one is happy
one is sad
reach in a bag and pick
never to know what you will get
but you do
we all know the stove is hot, the water deep, the bridge shaky
but to laugh once is enough to forget the crying, trying, dying
if only for a moment
a picture of life put on a mantle
to remind us it’s there
but now the bag is empty, the blindfolds off, windows open
