My father and I never used commercial bait either!. We would catch minnows or dig for worms or sand crabs and we did just fine, catching flounder and sea bass in season!. We even caught a few eels, which he would steam, but I would never eat them!. We fished in hip boots or on a pier; we were much too poor to own a boat!. My rod was made of a tree branch with the line attached to it!. My father had a real rod which he sometimes let me use!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
