"Love is Never"
Danny and his fiancé made quite the happy pair;
Love as true as gospel in a world where love is rare!.
Danny worked the double-shift to make sure ends would meet,
then after dinner Danny’s love would gently rub his feet!.
All his friends just couldn’t wait for Dan to set the date!.
They all knew, without a doubt, he’d found the perfect mate!.
So Danny and his fiancé chose one sweet eve in June
To seal love’s bond before the world, beneath the summer moon!.
The crowd that came to wish them well was full of joy and cheer,
drunk to a man on love and hope and freedom from their fear!.
The lovers’ kiss was met without a single hateful jeer!.
For Dan and John were lovers true… and love is never queer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Honestly, it makes me giggle because I think of how angry it will make some of the overly conservative folks out there!. Sounds petty but I can't help it!.

I don't know how it makes me "feel" but I thought it was "cute" and "sweet" and a little funny, in a nice way!. It made me smile, anyway!
I liked it, but I do have on critical piece of feedback, if you're interested; I got stuck on this one line:
"drunk to a man on love and hope and freedom from their fear" maybe something like: "Glasses were raised to Love and Hope and Freedom from all fear!.!.!." would work!? "drunk" made me think someone was intoxicated and "to the man on love!.!.!." seemed like an error!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
A bit more of a story then a poem, that's just my opinion!. But its good, the ending is done well with the shock factor!. But as for a poem it doesn't seem to ever really find a rhythm, just because the endings rhythm doesn't mean much, but its a nice touch!. That was good!. It was really good how you surprised us with the fact that it was a gay couple!. I personally have nothing against gay people even though I'm straight, but I must say surprise is my first reaction!. It sheds an interesting light on the subject of gay marriage!. Well, the main character working the double shift is kind of cliche in so many songs & films, but I like the surprise ending when I find out it's about 2 guys!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
