Question: Who shall gather roses!?
THE ROSES OF BELFAST

Who shall gather roses
in the gardens of Belfast,
where tangled vines
mingle with barbed wire!?
Who shall tend roses
or pull weeds
whose roots clutch
cracked pavement
where old men march
and children play!?
Who shall kneel to pray
or whisper, "No surrender"
to a brother, a son or a lover!?
Who shall be left to gather roses
between cold stone crosses!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like it - don't tell me Belfast is in trouble again!.

Suggestion - if you change the 'where's' to 'when's' it adds
a suggestion of possibility for change, do you think!?
where tangled/when tangled
where old men/when old men

just a thought
and after thought - or should it be 'whilst' rather than 'when' hm!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Emotional!. Deep in an odd way!. Very beautiful and well thought out!. It doesn`t drag, either!. Short and simple, yet holds a lot of sorrow, and what sounds like a loss of hope to me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
