Question: A poem for Fathers!?
Father, Dad, Pops
by Semper Fi Reborn

He cut my umbilical cord,
Not his ties to me!.
He told great stories,
But never told lies to me!.
He taught me how to fight,
And how to make peace!.
How to ride a bike
On the busy city streets!.
He taught me about life,
Taught me how to be a man!.
How to choose a wife!.
How to ask for her hand!.

He taught me to stand
How to walk, how to run!.
Even though he was Dad,
Taught me how to be a son!.

He made me the man,
That I wanted to be!.
To be proud to be Black
And Cherokee!.
Taught me to be kind
And never mean!.
Taught me until he died,
When I was eighteen!.

Dad, I love you
Your memory never dies!.
Your son has grown to be,
A man with your eyes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a very moving, outstanding tribute to your father!. Would that all men could be such wonderful fathers!. I think of my father as well and all the things we did together, fishing, football games, movies, math problems, the list goes on forever!. Like your father, he made me feel proud to be a woman; he said, "a woman can accomplish anything a man can accomplish, only she can usually do it better!." Your father taught you well and you certainly learned the lessons he taught!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This was lovely, dear Semper!.

I wish I could relate!.

Would you ever be able to conceive of a Father's Day Poem about a man who was all too human!? Who failed as a dad as much as he succeeded!? Who once was abusive - but through Christ has started on the path of learning how to love his family who stuck with him - by the help of Jesus - all the way into his old age!?

That's the poem for me!.

Peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Cherokees are a great people and I should know, for I am an Indian-Jew!. Top that if you can!. My Dad did not go to Church for his church was the forest and he gave it to his children!. My dad was Indian and my mother Jew!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My Dear Simper,

very very happy that you remember and recollect YOUR Father who gave you so many things!.but for the father you would never be here or any where!.
Make all people recollect that your father was really Great by your actions and by bringing-up your children in the same and if you can better way by adding some thing plus(positive only) if you can!.Make them retain a good picture of you and recollect it as you are doing!.They too shall recollect a pious,Gentle, intelligent, affectionate and friendly father!.
the poem is good!.It ,the meter of the poem is not that matters but the matter in the poem that really matters!.Good job!.Your father is really a Nice person to have a son like you!.

write similarly on mother too!.She must have been more attached and shown more affection as the time one spends with mother will be more naturally!.

God bless you and all the family members!.
