when TV came down an antenna,
I could stand up there and adjust
things so that I would not miss
Ruby shooting Oswald,
the Tet Offensive,
the Munich Games,
Exxon Valdiz and
Major League Baseball!.

Now that I’m wired,
Misters Nielsen and Disney
can fix the picture for me
so I won’t miss
the final disintegration of American
one lie at a time…

Back in the late '50's or early '60's Tom Lehrer had a song that went

"See World War Three on Pay TV, Before your television melts away!."
