Question: Does the ocean speak to you!?
Ocean Speaks
by Elaine P

I am Ocean
Giver of life,
Nurturer of the living
Transporter of man and beast!.

Life came not
from the sterile dust
or the impervious clay
of the Earth!.

My liquid
runs in your veins
my salt
permeates your tears!.

I am Ocean
dying from your poisons
come to me
let us go--together!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am with Dondi on this!. Mankind will eventually really screw up, and the earth/sea will take its revenge!. But, then in a cleansed world mankind will re-establish itself (sounds a bit like a Star-trek episode!)

Unless, of course, by then we haven't been dragged into the sun!.

Your poem sounds like an incantation - almost primeval - as though being chanted by one of the ancients at the mouth of a cave, whilst accompanied by a drum beat!.
Actually, it could be half of a dialogue!.!.!.!.
Voice One:
I am Ocean
Giver of life,
Nurturer of the living
Transporter of man and beast

Voice Two:
I am God
Master of the Ocean
Creator of all things
Listen to my words!.

(then God tells us how to avoid the end you predict)
You are advancing poetically in so many directions!. I would not have been able to guess this was from Elaine PWww@QuestionHome@Com

Beautiful poem, but the oceans won't die, they may get sick and run a fever, causing the polar ice caps to melt and raise the level of the oceans high enough to cleanse the planet of those who would kill her!. She will reclaim her own, then in time order shall return from the caos and the ocean shall settle back into her fresh clean banks without the polutants of many mellenium in her!. There may even be a man or two around to come down from the highest hills and rebuild a world again!. The ocean is forever, we can hurt her, but we will all die before she does!. She is immortal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The ocean, hypnotic and beautifull, at once calling and warning!. No wonder the deadliest and most beautiful creatures live within her, calling us and damning us!. Yes, I will go with her, forever, wherever shores she will take me to!. Thank you for this journey!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To die in the depths of the ocean - only thing - I think the ocean will be coming to us - not us going to meet it!. If you follow the "global warming" information - the sea level will rise to flood the land - ergo - going to you!. ;-) ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have always been drawn to the Ocean !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.For whatever reason !.!.!.I don't know !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.She gives us life & takes our lives She is crystal clear one moment with a gentile breeze And the next Her waves are 30 - 40 feet high wind blowing 70 knots
Tossing & churning !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
I'm sorry !.!.!.!.!.I loved your poem Especially the ending !.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
