Personification:

Dawn's rosy lips which kiss the greying sky
Smudge on lipstick to the empyreal blush,
Alighting modestly, the ancient lie,
On young Day’s glabrous dome!. Now curlews hush
Jump before the alaudidean cry,
In which repose, hot and still, Dawn’s kisses brush
Off tears for day’s debaucheries, the dew,
