Every inch of the pavement
Covered with humanity
Walking
Talking
Wall to wall flesh and blood
Alive and planning plans
Making deals
Making promises
Voices as far as the ear can hear
Sounds of liveliness
All of which I am a part of
A great human network
Like a machine that runs on souls
That have many different songs and functions
Accents
Quirks
Likes and dislikes
Unafraid to discuss them
With any who would care to listen
Yet still
Every one of us feels the pain of

I like this a lot!. It has a natural flow!.!.!.!.I particularly like your line 'voices as far as the ear can hear' - taking the cliche 'as far as the eye can see' and making it interesting and new!.
And it has a lot of truth in it!. (I missed Elaine's inspirational poem, so don't know what came before - but, it stands alone, so that is no problem)!.!.!.!.it is sunshiney in this part of the UK, so I am not glued to my keyboard, the downside of that is that I am missing quite a few things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
This is very good, very true!. I often wonder why so many feel lonely even when around a lot of people!. Maybe for fear of judgment, we keep ourselves guarded and the walls we build become our protector, and inside those walls we are lonely!. Sometimes it's comforting to feel lonely, sometimes heartbreaking because we wish someone would understand!. But to be understood, you have to put your true self out there, and for some (or most!?) that is hard to do!. Great poem, Semper, very thought provoking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
