A politician came down from the city
he was taking a poll for the state
he looked so polished and pretty
in our town, he looked sore, out of place
He drove up in his mercedes
he come down to common ground
he tipped his hat and said "dear ladies"
Are any of your husbands around!?
I said "no sir, may I help you!?"
a puzzled look befell his face
he said, "I'm from School district two,
where are the children in this place!?"
I said I'm sure you are mistaken
I think you've got the wrong place
the children here were taken
and only fear left in their face
Gunshots woke up my babies
fighting kept them up all night
my son might come home, maybe
I can only pray he'll be allright
As for your fancy school
