Question: Is this what happens when you spend a week reading ancient literature!?
*****
Tawa saw the children
saddened by an ordinary fate!.
He plucked the colors
from many things
and put them in the bag!.
Tawa then shook the bag
and, when he opened it,
butterflies appeared!.
They sang beautiful songs,
but the songbirds complained
to Tawa!. He understood the
songbirds' plight
and took song away
from the butterflies!. That is
why they remain silent!.

This is utterly fascinating!. It makes one wonder about the nature of the songbirds, unwilling to share the ability to sing!. I shall always forever now have the image of singing butterflies in my heart, so beautiful it is!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love these legends! The Hopi also teach their children that the Spirit of Swiftness lives in the butterfly, and so if you catch the butterfly you will become a fast runner!. So the kids spend their time running after the butterflies until the can catch one!. And amazingly, after catching a butterfly, they magically become swift runners!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

poor little colorful things,
how I wish to hear thee sing,
