Question: What is the best topic to write a poem about!?

The best poems show the reader what was in the mind of the poet!.!.!.we want to know how "you" perceive things!.!.!.anything!. You can write a poem on a rock, a flower, a sunny day, a pair of socks in the corner of the room!.!.!.because it's not the "object" that's important, it's what "you bring" to the object, or the connections "you make" with the object!. You might write about a house with a red door!.!.!.and how you wonder why anyone would paint a door such a bright red!.!.!.or about a single shoe in the bushes, where you wonder why anyone would throw away just one shoe!.

Remember!.!.!.don't tell us what we already know!.!.!.show us something only "you" see!.!.!.especially when it has to do with something we see everyday!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I find that personal experiences are the best and easiest to work with as they do not require much thought!. Try to use your memories and feelings and describe them by using other activities that cause similar emotions and feelings!.

If you're stuck pick out a couple of songs to listen to and get an idea with the way they use their lyrics in the song!. You might be able to get different ideas this way too!.
