The Chicken of Babylon
by TD Euwaite

Caught and penned
and now
I’m poultry!.
No more sultry
co’ck carousing!.
With contented hens
arousing!.
Downey soft
egg layers
lounging!.
Strut and crow
else cracked
and stewing!.
I must now
do
what rooster’s doing…
