Sooo right!!! It practically felt like a religious duty to eat faster and let no drop of sweet creamy goodness be squandered on the dusty street!

Tastes were such poignant sensory tools! The taste of brussels sprouts was so bitter it made me shiver; it was so bad I risked spankings by sneaking into the kitchen, lifting up the trash in the garbage pail and pushing my vegies into the middle to hide them from my mom!.

Sitting in the thin shade of a mesquite tree and nipping the base of honeysuckle flowers to catch the tiny drop of "honey" inside mixed with the sharper taste of chewing a stem of grass - remember how it tasted "green"!

I can date myself if I merely tell you which candies I liked best as a little girl!. I spent a nickle and bought Nickle Nips - I tried to get the sweet juice from the wax bottle without getting the wax stuck in my teeth when I "bit" the cap off!.
