Poe loves to talk about beautiful women dying!. It is, however, one of my favorites!. What Poe is talking about is an ideal love - almost bordering on obsessive!. In fact, much of his poem is border-line blasphemous, with the narrator accusing the angels in heaven of striking down his love because of jealousy!.

It encapsulates a feeling anyone who has "loved and lost" can relate to, and its contemporary relevance is probably why it is still so popular today!. I know this is what strikes a chord in my own heart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
