Silent Parade

They came from out of the sea,
And the earth!.
From every corner, and cave!.
They came from Normandy,
From Guam, Korea, Viet Nam!.
From Okinawa, Lebanon, Kuwait,
Iraq, Afghanistan!.
The winds carried their voices from
Germany and England!.
Telling tales of battles and skirmishes!.
Fire fights and close combat!.
They followed McArthur and Eisenhower!.
They followed Chesty Puller and Dan Daley!.
Schwarzkopf and Powell!.
Without question!.
With honor!.
Now here they were in a silent parade,
