I will try to provide you with some assistance so you can do your assignment!. These are actually easy to do, and if you're planning on "changing" something we provide you anyway, you might as well just do them yourself!.!.!.and I'll try to help you do that!.

1!. Free verse!.!.!.with 2 literary devices: Let's use "metaphor" and "simile"!.

If you say, in one of your lines, "I am the sun that rises", or any other comment where you say you "are" something else, you've just used "metaphor"!. Then, if you say, "you are like a wind that!.!.!.", or any other statement where you say that either you, someone else, or some "thing" is "like" something else, that's a simile!. Since you only need 10 lines, just write about yourself!.!.!.how you look at each day, or how feel when you go out with friends, etc!. Each line should have about 4-6 words and paint a picture or describe how you see things!. You could even use what you posted up here!.!.!.and added things like "I'm a blank piece of paper and I need to be like Shakespeare right now"!.!.!.that would have used both metaphor and simile, and you could break up the rest into ten lines!.!.!.it's really that easy!.

2!. Limmericks!. These poems are silly and fun to write!. They have a fixed pattern, but considering your grade level, they just want you to try your best and it doesn't have to be perfect!. The first line of the Limmerick says who you're talking about, as in, "there once was a young man named Jim"!.!.!.the next few lines says something about him, then there is a pair of lines that rhyme and set up the final line that rhymes with the first!.!.!.they look like this:

There once was a boy name of Billy
Who like to wear clothes a bit frilly
Till one day in a dress
He looked such a mess
That he realized cross-dressing was silly

Your Limmericks should follow the same rhyme and beats as that one!.

3!. Haiku!. These are very easy to do if you understand what to look for!. A Haiku is just three lines of poetry!.!.!.they don't rhyme, the first letter of each sentence is "NOT" capitalized, the first two lines set up the image, and the third line offers a parallel view!.!.!.the lines have 5, 7 and 5 syllables respetively!. Here's an example:

the winter wind blows
gently across the still pond
fish watch the ripples

!.!.!.that's it!.!.!.that's Haiku!.

4!. Cinquain of diamante!. A cinquain is a 5-line poem with this structure:
1st line - 1 word - noun
2nd line - 2 words - describe the noun
3rd line - 3 words - actions
4th line - 4 words - feelings
5th line - 1 word - noun - another word for first word

Here's an example:
Ocean
Salt water
Big waves crashing
I can't look away
Sea

5!. Narrative!. Your teacher wants it to be different than your free verse!.!.!.not that it can't be free verse, which narrative poems usually are, it just can be the same one you used for number 1!. This one is probably the easiest because all you have to do is write 10 lines, like before, but this time you can simply "tell a story"!.!.!.instead of using metaphor and simile, try these two devices: personification and hyperbole!. If you say, "the car growled its welcome", that's personification!.!.!.which is anytime you give human qualities to something non-human", and then say, "like a million times before"!.!.!.which is "hyperbole"!.!.!.anything that is a gross exageration of the truth ("I must have eaten a thousand of those things", or "I've told you to do that a thousand times today")!.

6!. Acrostic!. Another easy one!.!.!.just write a word vertically, so that each of its letters is the first letter of the line that follows!.!.!.which doesn't have to rhyme!.!.!.like this:

S ilent flakes pile up
N ice to see them fall
O n a school day like this
W hen we get to stay home

!.!.!.only don't separate the first letter from each word!.!.!.I did that so you could see what was going on!.

7!. Concrete poem: This is also called "carmen figuraturum", or a poem where the words form a picture of what the poem's about!.!.!.an easy one would be a tree!.!.!.like this:

!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Trees
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.So tall and
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Strong, with so
!.!.!.!.!.!.Many limbs to climb
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.for
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.me
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you

!.!.!.only don't use the "dots"!.!.!.I had to use them to get the words to line up for this post!.

!.!.!.and that's it :)

See!? You should be done in less than an hour!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if it's for school and you're asking for someone to write it for you!.!.!.

!.!.!.the help is just going to be plagiarism, if you use it!.

So, I don't see the point in writing something that you're going to plagiarize; if you're going to tell people not to plagiarize!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
