Question: Do you compare yourself to things around you!?
I finished writing the machine program at 1:39 pm est, and as you can probably tell, I got bored, so here is another!.

A Comparison of Sorts

Compare me to the things I have,
See what is just like me!.
My shovel's dull, my rake is bent,
Just like my messed up knee!.

My mind is like that trap of steel,
All covered in red rust!.
Left hanging on that old bent nail,
In cobwebs and in dust!.

The sawhorse sitting in the shed,
The legs are loose and flop!.
Much like the ones that I walk on,
No longer can I hop!.

The hands upon the old hall clock,
Are knarled and not so straight!.
Like mine have been these last few years,
My God, it's getting late!.

The mirror on the bathroom shelf,
Shows quite a bit of fog!.
Or it could be that it's my eyes,
Have slipped upon their cog!.

There's nothing I will throw away,
No it will never be!.
Too much the pain, to hard to do,
Like tossing parts of me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Poems are us, poetry are feelings lying dormant for years only to spring forth for maybe a month, maybe a decade and fade away again, but those feelings are still there, electric, moving and wanting to be expressed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh yes, I do----This was a delightful poem to be sure, so real to what is after a certain time in life, I especially relate to an
old tree, and on the rare times I look in the mirror, my mother
appears, where did I go!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have given away a few things - and just trashed a lot too - but there is always that figurine or a greeting card - that I fondle - think of its memory - and then put it back into its place!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I compare myself to an old used car
That's been driven many miles and far too far!.
The headlights are now always on low
You have to fill me up to make me go!.
The bumper has seen a dent or two
When kicked by an old man's leather shoe!.
The curves I used to take with grace
The tires are now stuck in one place!.
Windshield wipers haven't worked for years!.
They wore themselves dry, wiping up tears!.
There is dents, scratches, a worn out seat
What the heck do you expect, for love of pete!.
But the motor still purrs when you put the foot to the floor!.
A mechanic with a soft touch, I would adore!.
I'm a beat-up old wreck, cost to operate cheap
Anyone interested in buying this old beat-up heap!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
