the Wizard waves around his arms…
but brings to nothing, fright or harm…
he casts a spell, but it snags…
his glowing blue-bright robes…
turn to rags!.!.!.
his magical, fantastical toad…
won’t explode…
clouded!?
crystal ball he’s rubbed opaque…
and fairy dust, he’s ground to powder…
his incantations spoken louder…
in search of God, and man’s mistakes…
predicting flood, famine and quake…
his silver Christ on crucifix…
and wooden stake…
his artifacts…

MacArthur was quoting from a barrack ballad called "Old Soldiers Never Die" :

Strange, I just used part of that to an answer minutes ago,
I don't really know, But I do remember he read the poem
"IF" and that poem too was mentioned on an answer today,
