Question: Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening!?
Whose woods these are, I think I know
His house is in the village though
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year

He gives his harness bells a shake
to ask if there is some mistake
the only other sounds the sweep
of easy wind and downy flake

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep
And miles to go before I sleep

He's tired, but inspired!. Because Frost had an artist's view of the loveliness of silence!. also, for emotional impact!. When Frost wrote this lovely little poem, horses were still the major means of transportation, and although you may name your car "Nellie", "Stud" or "Sparky" (etc), a horse is a living, thinking creature & (if you've ever been, known or married a cowboy), you become very close to the animal!. The little horse will take you home, but you are responsible for its well-being, no matter how inspired you think you are!. There's a little thing called rhythm & meter involved, too, but that's not a convoluted issue when dealing with Frost!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The incantatory repetition of the last lines brings to mind prayerful repetitions in church, reminding the reader of the spiritual qualities of the woods and the mysteries of nature!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It makes it that much more powerful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
