Question: This poem is almost 35 years old!. When will it grow up!?
*****
I’m back on the highway
with my pockets turned out
by the little blond girl
at the bar!.
I drank and hollered
and gave her all my dollars
so she would dance some more
up on that pole!.
I can’t go back until
payday comes, so I better get
where I should be and keep and my job!.
I’m no jerk, I know how to do my work
but I’d rather bark and howl
and scratch my itch!.
