First Attempt at a Double

Didn't get it the first time, I usually do rhymes about an
elf,
Unitil I tried it one more time,getting addictive just like you!.
Nothing else to do, as it is now noon!.
Couldn't concentrate, until I got it down!.
Eventually gave it one more try, I must be dumb,and this acrostic is crummy!.
