Dubious, whimsical I smile!.
I ask my self , what do they see
I do not see-Is this flattery!?
Did I always look like this
out side and within!?
From mane of ash blond to lessen silver gray
from size 12 to size 16
firm to sagging
agile to limp
wife to widow
mother to grandmother
religious to spiritual
from-----------------------
And just as quick- spasmodic
"How 'you been!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
gotta rush!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
It was so good to see you!"

Jenny, I wouldn't change a thing about this piece!. Maybe one has to be a woman to understand the poignant beauty expressed here of the questioning inside a woman's heart as she moves through life!. The aging process is "change" enough thank you :O)))))))Www@QuestionHome@Com
Well thought out and penned!. A great story that is all to true!. Some edits:
S1L4:: how about "whimsically"
S2L4: outside
S3L1: less than
S2L2: to add interest perhaps change "12 to a shapely 16"
S2L3: again for interest and alliteration "firm to sagging firm"
Dashes are probably not correct but then rules in poetry can be flexible!. When in doubt the comma always seems to work!. Congratulations on this enjoyable read!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
"And the beat goes on" - Age will set its mark on everyone - kinder to some than others !. Hard as it is - it is still nice to see an old friend and that they are still around!.
What is more enlightening is seeing a movie star - so young and vibrant in the movies long ago - and "aged" on the current interview show!. First thought in your mind is "Boy, how old they look"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
