Shattered thorns laced at my side
A patchwork china doll
of all my broken pride
Bound up with webbed lies
stitched in disarray
One piece
correctly placed
another dismayed
My heart is where harsh and gentle
collide
Held inside a secret box
sewn the same as passions lack
because I want her back
French frocks
all fouled and dirtied
hurting from kisses
mislaid
A haunting windblown thought
Things
that should not have been
A broken face to match a broken love
