The drops fall…
One
Two
Three
Counting out the rhythm
of a bloodstained pillow
The marks of nights gone by
sing the story like a drum
One
Two
Three
She thought her worth was small
and sought to give it up
A tale displayed
in brilliant array
One
Two
Her sight began to fail
her mind reeled in content
for her choice she wished to lock
About the roses gentle fragrance
One
Two
but she never could see
how her own words drifted
to every corner of the house
and even to the streets beyond
One
Last
Drop
and it was done
Her song was sung
Her heart grew slow
and beat into the beyond
An immortal rhythm
A tragic mistake
The death of a Siren-
Blessed Be, Siren…

Ah, not like your usual work, but different in a pleasant way!. I will, however, warn you about following the path of dark poetry!. It is captivating, scintillating, but only to you, because soon others will be terrifyingly bored!. I am amazed that I do not have half the people on this site snoozing by now!. Very nice poem and you brought it out who cutters feel when they cut !.I used to be a hard core cutter so i can really relate to this!.!. It's a sad tale but it's a true tale as many have traveled this road!.some have went over the edge and some have known their limit!.I was almost the latter one!. You have captured the essence of cutters, which is so hard to understand!. I know the psychological reasons, the different areas people cut to hide it, and that it generally is to be more painful than what their life feels like!.
I accidentally cut my wrist a few weeks ago, and of course the doctor asked about suicide -- I told him that no, I was just being careless and stupid!. A small scar, a reminder to me of pain that I have used to encompass the cutters I don't understand, but care for!.
