Fear of Flying
“If God had wanted us to fly
He’d have given us wings like a bird”!.
That’s the most sensible maxim
that I have ever heard!.
I sit in the dreaded departure lounge
concentrating on my
b r e a t h i n g!.
In!.!.!.pause!.!.!.out
In!.!.!.!.pause!.!.!.out
keep the rhythm moving!.
Is that why I feel light-headed!?
Or is it because I’ve been sick!?
If I keep breathing into this paper bag
I’m sure that will do the trick!.
Don’t panic!.
We’re not yet air-borne
And there’s ages still to wait!.
Shush!. Shut-UP!. Did you hear that!?
Wasn’t that our Departure Gate!?
Quick!. Have you got the passports!?
Hurry!. Pick up all our things!.
Don’t speak to me!. We’re taxiing!.
I need all my psychic powers
Without full concentration
We’re bound to hit one of the towers!.
!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.ooooooooOOOOOOOOOH
Thank Goodness, at least we’ve made it!.
Now all I’ve got to worry about
Is how to last for the next four hours
Without screaming!.!.!.!.!.!.

I who have logged over 500,000 real miles on planes take little pity on those who fear the air!. Just kidding! I have seen a lot of first time fliers and their fears!. The best was during a very turbulent flight, I felt a pressure on my hand!. The little girl in the next seat next to me had her right hand on her Mom's and she had placed her left on my hand!. I still remember the pressure of her hand!. P!.S!. You might want to try a double brandy if you imbibe!. As usual though, the poem was well written and enjoyable!. Or maybe we were given the intelligence to invent airplanes!. That way, we can fly and walk and run and swim!. Sorry you have fear of flying!. I love to fly and actually look down upon the mountains!. I have seen the Swiss Alps and the volcano of Ecuador, plains and valleys and rivers and oceans!. I wish I could commiserate, but actually I love flying, even though I am afraid of heights!. While I felt deep pity for those who actually feel this way, this evoked more of a laughter within me, a humorous note!. I am sorry, but I was helplessly entertained by thinking of the poor folks getting the sweats in an airplane!. *sighs, stops laughing*!. Alas, I am pitiless!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
