Question: A Sad Poem - Do You Like!?
A suitcase filled with falling memories
rests upon thread torn bedding
Arms reach out, grasping and lose
tumbling possibilities

An unsuccessful life filled with what ifs
can be read between the lines
of an age-d folded face
lying on a teared pillowWww@QuestionHome@Com

I couldn't help but picture a widow trying to come to grips with losing her spouse after 50 or so years!. These words became a window into someone's sorrow!. You did well!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I see someone leaving, a departure that isn't death!. Unfortunately, I see a divorce of an older couple who have raised children together, have grandchildren, but who have finally decided to let their differences come between them!. That's what the suitcase image gives me!. However, this may not have been your intention in the least!. Whatever the meaning is to you, this struck me as poignant and the feelings behind it as something I pray I never experience!. Yes, a sad poem indeed, but a warning as well, to the aged and young!. I thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is most beautiful!.!.!. some sad poems are, "OH woe is me," but this one!.!.!. it is mellow and thoughtful!.!.!.I almost teared up at the last lines of the first stanza, I don;t know why but it spoke to me!. The second stanza!.!.!. WOW! It tells, to me, of the sorrow of the aged because of thoughts of wasted moments but!.!.!. it doesn't have to be an older person that feels this way!.

I know what it is like to unpack a life!. The memories fall and scatter, tumble about without order or reason!. The what ifs pile up then as do the regrets, and the tears flow!. You have expressed this so well, with such graphic imagery!. My tears flowed with that aged, folded face as I read your poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
