things that are not there

she lies awake
listening
for things
that make no sound

she cries
for things
that will never happen

she fights
imaginery beings but
she comes out with real bruises

she talks
of impossoible things
because monsters are not real

she hates
me and the family
because no one believes

It is a good poem!. I think it could use a few structural tweaks but you have something!. I know it's your poem so please view these edits as a way to explain what I'm getting at--not the end-all-be-all of how this should be written!.

Something to get you thinking (I changed some wording and structure--notice the line break on "She Lies" when I changed the break its almost like the narrator is fed up with her!.!.!.it is the type of nuance you can add by considering your breaks in different ways after you've written something!.
